For
the first time ever, we are canceling tonight’s Living Room due to the
Blizzard Warning in effect until 6 am tomorrow morning. We don’t know
how bad the snow will be this evening and don’t want anyone getting
hurt coming to or going home in the dark.
Emily Scott and St.
Lydia’s will come back to lead the planned program on Early Christian
Communion on Wednesday, March 24th, the week before the Christian Palm
Sunday and Holy Week begin.
In two weeks, we’re looking
forward to seeing you all and celebrating “Purim! How Queen Esther
Reversed History” with Rabbi Justus Baird, with a full reading of the Book of Esther (the only book in the Bible that does not mention G-d), cheering, booing, singing, chanting, hamantaschen cookies, and the preparation of mishloah manot, a traditional package prepared for the poor. Please bring non-perishable food to donate!
Below are three Sabbath Poems about blizzards and snow. Enjoy!
Stay warm and safe,
Bowie, Samir, and Bara
