Interfaith Youth Core
www.ifyc.org

When forces of intolerance emerged in the past, young people led the forces of inclusion. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was 26 when he organized the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and Gandhi was even younger when he began working for peace in India. Headlines tell the story of religious bigotry and conflict – but we know there’s another way. What if people of all faiths and traditions worked together to promote the common good for all? What if once again, young people led the way? Across the country, Muslims and Hindus, Jews and Christians, Buddhists and non-religious, are coming together in a movement of interfaith cooperation. They are proving that the 21st century can be defined by cooperation between diverse communities instead of conflict. Read more. Get involved. Let’s prove we are better together.

Religious Freedom USA
Protecting Religious Freedom for All | www.religiousfreedomusa.org

America is still grieving from the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. As a nation, we have found many healthy outlets for our profound sense of loss. Yet on more than one occasion, the grief that Americans have experienced has been channeled into anger against individual religious communities. From the desecration of mosques to physical violence against Sikhs and Hindus, to anti-Semitic language and finger-pointing at Christians, religious and secular communities alike have borne the brunt of this profound hurt. Religious Freedom USA seeks to defend the core American value of religious freedom by countering these critics and demonstrating the centrality of religious freedom and pluralism in our country. On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda terrorists took the lives of 3,000 innocent Americans.  We cannot allow them to take the soul of America, too. Religious freedom is an American value that must be protected.

StorahTelling
Ancient Stories. New Generations www.storahtelling.org

In the beginning, story mattered. Woven through the generations, sacred stories charted community courses and mapped individual life journeys. Today, many are denied access to the relevance and transformative power of their inherited legacies. The People of the Book often don’t know what’s in it. Bridging past and present, Storahtelling makes story matter again. Using an innovative fusion of scholarship, storytelling, performing arts and new media, our programs reclaim the narratives and traditions that define Jewish life yet have failed to adapt to modern times.
